Hispanidad Fountain - 2025

Quiet Ensemble

The Italians Fabio Di Salvo and Bernardo Vercelli turn the fountain into a celestial landscape by projecting solar particles that float in the air, encouraging visitors to interact with light and music.

The work

In Pilar Square, the work ‘Solar Dust’ by Quiet Ensemble transforms Hispanidad Fountain into a gateway to a celestial universe. This light show transports audiences to an ethereal kingdom where stars seem to float, hanging in a three-dimensional cloud that delicately stands above the space.

The installation uses light particles which, like digital fireflies, shine and beat to the rhythm of a synchronised sound design, all hanging in a three-dimensional structure that invokes an ethereal cloud. These particles are dynamic and constantly in motion, creating a holographic effect that gives rise to an illusion of lights emerging from nowhere. The work therefore becomes a choreography of colours and sounds that hypnotise anyone gazing at it.

‘Solar Dust’ is more than a visual show: it is a piece that encourages audiences to think. The interaction between light and sound forms a surrounding atmosphere where tangible and intangible elements intertwine in harmony. Hispanidad Fountain, an icon of Zaragoza, is reimagined as a living organism, a space where technology and art come together to offer a transcendental journey that goes beyond the limits of reality.

In this context, the installation has a captivating conversation with the urban environment, turning the fountain into a cosmic setting. It is an invitation to get lost in the magic, where each glimmer and each sound seem to tell a story about infinity.
