Pii, expansión arquitectónica
Facade of the Association of Architects of Aragon building - 2025
Néstor Lizalde
Interactive lighting that underlines the importance of architecture in Zaragoza. It brings together contemporary art and historical heritage, transforming the facade of the Association of Architects of Aragon building with lights that respond to the audience.

The work
‛Pii’ transforms the historic facade of the Association of Architects building into a living organism, where contemporary art and technology have a conversation with architectural heritage. This show combines an interactive sculpture with a light system that spreads throughout the windows of the building, creating a performance that links past and present.
The most important piece, found inside the main door of the facade, is made up of infrared sensors that respond to the presence and movement of the audience, generating light patterns that are synchronised with the beams of light distributed on the upper windows. The result is a visual and sound choreography that turns static architecture into a dynamic facade.
‛Pii’ encourages observers to rediscover architectural heritage from a multisensory perspective, highlighting the way in which contemporary art can revitalise historic spaces and transform them into points where memory and modernism come together.
It also has music created by the artists and musical producers Pedro Bueno Marín and Fernando López Gallego.
