El Núcleo
San Felipe Square - 2025
Gustavo Omedes
‛El Núcleo’ emerges in San Felipe Square as a container of light that beats in the heart of the city. Made up of plastic shapes, this structure uses light as a universal language, opening up a dialogue with the space around it.

The installation encourages audiences to explore a visual narrative that combines modernism and cultural memory. The surfaces of the sculpture reflect sequences of images and light textures that evolve before visitors’ eyes, transforming the work into a ‘contemporary heart’ that links physical and immaterial elements.
With ‘El Núcleo’, Gustavo Omedes reinterprets the idea of an urban monument, encouraging us to experience a space in which we can reflect and connect via light and its boundless expressive possibilities.
